Rod and dogs at White Sands, New MexicoHello world, it’s me Rod Sims! You may not recognize me; for the last 24 years I have been part of something bigger than myself doing the the bidding of the government as part of the US Air Force.  Now I’m free to pursue my own goals, and after months of soul searching, I’ve decided to save the planet – one person, one house, one family at a time.

It’s not that I didn’t enjoy my time and experiences in the military; the places I lived, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Afghanistan, and Germany shaped my ideas about what is green to me, but the expectation in the military is that they say jump and you say how high on your way up – definitely not about your goals unless they are related to being in the military.  That time is behind me and I am starting my new life as a Home Energy Specialist.  In future blogs I will discuss what I found green in these other countries and you can give me your thoughts on whats green.

Sims Green Energy Services is my new company serving Southeastern New Mexico and my mission is to partner with builders and homeowners to increase the quality of life in the built environment while reducing their carbon footprint.  That quality of life includes energy efficiency, comfort, health, and reduced overall cost of home ownership.  I am committed to education, yours and mine, to provide the highest quality,  independent, and unbiased service to my customers.  I will strive to provide my service at a price that allows me to stay in business without taking advantage of my customer.
